2. Mocambo

Rosa's rich parents have Matteo and Simone's communist parents over for a disastrous dinner. At the carnival, a confused Nora confronts her grandmother.

3. Photographs

Trying to figure things out, Nora confesses to Rosa, but swears her to secrecy. Simone becomes obsessed with the possibility of Sandro's criminality.

4. Stella

Nora forces her grandmother to tell her the truth about how, in the midst of war, she came into their lives.

5. Blow-up

With Nora's support, a frightened Simone makes a decision. At the carnival, Ettore buys Antonio his dream ride while Miranda stews.

6. Volare

Nora helps Simone when he's forced to flee after he informs on Sandro. Tullio tries to keep his secrets hidden but Lucia wants to follow her intuition.
